Caterpillar mulls over moving some operations back to U.S.

Caterpillar might move its heavy-equipment overseas production to a new U.S. plant, joining a trend known as onshoring or reshoring that could create competition among states for manufacturing jobs. The idea is gaining steam because a weak U.S. dollar makes imports more expensive. The White House also might offer incentives to manufacturers that create U.S. jobs.
