NBCT: Teaching was "on autopilot" before certification

Fifty-one teachers in Maryland's Prince George's County teachers recently were recognized for earning National Board Certification in 2009. One newly certified teacher says she realized her teaching was on autopilot before the rigorous certification process. "I think it makes me a better teacher," she said of National Board Certification. "It helps my students because ... they are getting the absolute best from me every day."
