The makeshift bomb allegedly carried by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab could have inflicted more damage and death had it detonated properly, but it still would not have brought down the aircraft as intended, according to a reenactment aired Thursday on the Discovery Channel. The special showed how Abdullmutallab thwarted airport security to get his bomb on board the Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, but experts argue -- and video footage proves -- that the amount of explosive was not enough to breach the plane's sidewall or penetrate its fuel tank.
