Canceled deal for 20 planes is "isolated" problem, Air Force official says

The documentation issue that caused the U.S. Air Force to cancel a contract with Brazil's Embraer and Sierra Nevada Corp. in the U.S. for 20 planes bound for Afghanistan isn't the result of a systemic problem, said David Van Buren, Air Force acquisition executive. "It's my belief from any information I know, subject to further analysis by the commander-directed investigation ... that this is an isolated situation," Van Buren said.
