House to hold hearing on East Coast refinery closings

A panel of the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee will meet Monday to discuss U.S. refinery shutdowns as companies close or plan to close three East Coast refineries. Sen. Robert Casey, D-Pa., has similarly requested a Senate hearing. "This hearing will help us understand the homeland security consequences of our declining domestic refining capacity, both in terms of threats to critical infrastructure and our dependence on imports from unstable parts of the world," said Rep. Patrick Meehan, R-Pa.
