Poll finds more providers embrace clinical informatics programs

A survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers' Health Research Institute showed 61% of health provider executives surveyed had a clinical informatics program in place, while 45% employ a chief medical informatics officer to oversee the program. Researchers also found that 58% have nurse informaticists and 47% employ other nonphysician informaticists, rates higher than in 2010.
