What does the IEP process look like in schools?

Teams of educators, parents and therapists are responsible for creating, maintaining and following individualized education programs -- living documents that guide the education and services for students with disabilities. Students' goals are determined at the first IEP meeting, with reviews occurring at subsequent meetings held each year, and the role of case manager usually filled by a special-education teacher.
