Gay W. Va. lawmaker intros partner on House floor

West Virginia state Delegate Stephen Skinner asked his partner to stand and be recognized in the state House chamber this week, a simple gesture that nonetheless drew applause. "There are all these little important points. We're breaking barriers," Skinner said. He is the first openly LGBT member of the West Virginia Legislature, and among his priorities will be passage of a statewide law banning employment and housing discrimination based on sexual orientation.
