Industry concerns stall FDA's calorie-count rules

The Food & Drug Administration continues to hit roadblocks as it struggles to finalize the rules for posting calorie counts that are required under the 2010 health care law, FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg said. Supermarkets and convenience stores have been vigorously fighting the changes despite their expanding prepared-food offerings, and a coalition of pizza chains is pushing for more flexibility to account for the endless number of topping combinations.
