Poll finds most Russians hostile to LGBT rights

Eighty-seven percent of Russians are opposed to LGBT Pride events in their cities, according to a poll from the Levada Public Opinion Center, and 85% are opposed to allowing same-sex couples to marry. Twenty-two percent say homosexuals should be made to enter treatment, while 5% want them exterminated, the poll found. The results come as the Russian parliament considers legislation to outlaw promotion of homosexuality.
