Bordeaux moves back to being a drinker's wine, not an investor's

A volatile market has turned speculators away from Bordeaux, but wine experts are seeing growing interest in vintages that are currently hitting tables for drinking, according to the Bordeaux Index. Hot vintages now are from 1995 and 1996, and the angle sellers need to take is to promote Bordeaux as a good value for drinking. "Three years ago we were 85% Bordeaux sales; last year it was 58%," said Gareth Birchley, an Index buyer.
