Low IQ, poor heart health in adolescence may raise risk of dementia

Men who had both poor cardiovascular fitness and low IQ scores at age 18 had a sevenfold increased risk of early-onset dementia before age 60, according to a Swedish study in the journal Brain. The risk of dementia was 2.5 times higher among those with poorer cardiovascular fitness and four times greater among those with lower IQ scores.
