NYC would provide free lunches to all students under proposal

New York City would join Dallas, Chicago and Boston in offering free meals to all students -- regardless of family income -- under a proposal announced Tuesday by Public Advocate Letitia James. The mayor's office did not indicate whether the proposal would be taken up, and officials did not offer an estimate on the cost of providing free lunches for the city's 1.1 million students.
