San Diego wines need to establish local following

Home to 84 wineries, most of which have been established within the past 20 years, San Diego is making its way onto the U.S. wine map, this article says. The San Diego County Vintners Association is planning a wine festival at Bernardo Winery at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, the nation's oldest winery in operation, this summer for local enthusiasts. "Our major goal is to have people who live in or visit San Diego know that we have a wine industry," said Linda McWilliams, president of the association.
