Survey compares solo, employed physicians

A survey of more than 4,600 physicians found older doctors tended to opt for solo practices while more than twice as many of those under age 40 chose to be employed. Data showed 38% of physicians chose employment over solo practice because it carried less financial risk, 45% of employed doctors said their biggest complaint was having limited influence in decision-making and, overall, employed and solo practitioner reported being about equally satisfied with their choice.
