When he was in middle school, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone spent a painful afternoon trying to learn how to perform a back handspring. He landed on his ribs repeatedly but eventually learned that "[i]n order to succeed spectacularly, you must be willing to fail spectacularly." That lesson served him well in the early days of Twitter's existence, Stone said in a panel at South by Southwest.
