Pilgrim's Pride announces plant closures, job cuts

Pilgrim's Pride on Wednesday said it will shut seven U.S. facilities and cut 1,100 jobs because of the rising costs of chicken feed. "While the decision to close a facility is always very difficult, we believe the actions we are announcing today are absolutely necessary to help bring supply and demand into better balance," Pilgrim's CEO Clint Rivers said.
