ASTA opposes unfettered antitrust immunity for airlines

ASTA and other industry groups are vocal in their opposition to giving airlines complete antitrust immunity. The groups have encouraged the Department of Transportation to "provide a limited carve-out" so that any immunity would "exclude any form of cooperation among the joint applicants regarding the distribution of air travel through any independent travel distributor." The calls come as the DOT continues to consider applications for antitrust immunity from several airlines.
