Southwest considering onboard food sales

Long known as a peanuts-only carrier, Southwest Airlines is now exploring onboard food sales as a way to boost revenue amid flagging demand for air travel. "We're kicking around the idea, among a lot of ideas we're looking at," according to a spokesperson. "We don't have any specifics, and there aren't any plans to implement it anytime soon," he said. The move would mark something of a departure for Southwest, which positions itself as the "no hidden fees" airline.
