Quake may put pressure on wireless chip production

In addition to the tragic consequences for those living in Japan, Friday's massive earthquake affected plants that make flash-memory chips for smartphones and other devices. Toshiba said Friday that its production had resumed, but logistical issues could still lead to shortages. Meanwhile, Taiwanese chipmakers were trying to determine how they would be affected by the lack of raw materials from Japan.
