Medical center provides fitness and rehabilitation for pets

New York author and businesswoman Tina Santi Flaherty was inspired to create a center for pet physical therapy after her own dog required swimming therapy to help ease the discomfort of his hip dysplasia. Her efforts led to the opening of a fitness and rehabilitation clinic at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. The center treats about 100 animals a week, providing such services as Reiki massage, acupuncture and hydrotherapy.
