Nev. elementary school adopts health-conscious culture

Students at Bracken Elementary School in Nevada perform 10 minutes of physical activity each day before lunch, followed by recess. The daily exercise is part of a cultural change at the school, which was recently recognized by the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition. The school also rewards students with music, arts or PE activities instead of pizza parties, enlisted specialists to demonstrate healthy cooking and has asked parents to bring healthy treats to school rather than candy.
