Ravitch: Why teacher morale is at a 20-year low

Education historian Diane Ravitch in this blog post responds to a recent survey showing that morale among teachers has reached a 20-year low. The reasons, she writes, are a lack of job security, lack of support and deep cuts to school budgets during a time of increased need. Ravitch writes that one solution that could improve morale among teachers is to boost their job security by strengthening tenure, rather than eliminating it.
