Symantec: Malware writers turning to Twitter to target smartphone users

Cybercriminals are increasingly turning to social networking sites such as Twitter as a means of duping potential targets, according to security experts who have traced thousands of tweets back to bogus Twitter accounts used exclusively to deliver malware. Joji Hamada, a security researcher at Symantec, says mobile malware writers, in particular, are drawn to Twitter because of its convenience and popularity among smartphone users.
