HCV awareness linked to lower quality of life, survey shows

Survey results from injection drug users showed that those who knew they had chronic hepatitis C had a lower quality of life than those who were unaware. Researcher Scott McDonald of Health Protection Scotland said while there was no evidence linking a specific quality-of-life factor directly to HCV infection, clinicians "need to understand the impact an HCV diagnosis can have on a patient."
