Keep tabs on your job application without being a pest

After applying for a job, there's not much you can do beyond sending a note highlighting your interest, but you can take more action once you've had an interview, Alison Green writes. She suggests asking about the hiring timeline in your interview then follow later with a "quick email, explaining that you remain very interested in the job and asking if they have an updated timeline," she writes.
