Miss. lawmakers pass bill to ban local nutrition ordinances

The Mississippi Legislature approved a bill to ban local governments from enacting ordinances that restrict portion sizes, require nutritional information or prohibit toys in meals for children. Supporters said they do not want municipalities to follow the lead of New York City, but opponents said local governments need the ability to fight obesity.
