Tesco to pay £50 million for Giraffe restaurant chain

Tesco has sealed a deal to acquire the well-known high street restaurant brand Giraffe, which is slated to open its 48th unit this month. The move would give the supermarket chain the ability to open in-store Giraffe restaurants as part of a push to soften the stores, which also includes last month's announcement that Tesco bought a 49% stake in coffee shop brand Harris + Hoole and would begin opening shops adjacent to Tesco stores.
