Economists argue against minimum wage increase

A letter signed by 500 economists urged Congress to reject President Barack Obama's proposal to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour. The missive called the plan a job killer and said efforts to fight poverty need a more comprehensive solution. A different group of economists signed a separate letter in January to support the increase.
