European luxury market aims for personal touch

Luxury travelers in Europe do their own research on hotels and are looking for intense personalization of their experience that makes the most of their limited vacation time, say experts. "I think everybody that pays such a lot of money to stay in our hotel has the right to expect the value add and has the full right to expect 100% perfection of everything," says Brigitta Hartl-Wagner, Sacher Hotels, one of a group of European hotel experts convened at a recent roundtable. "All luxury hotels have beautiful rooms. We have state-of-the-art bathrooms. We have all kinds of technical amenities. That's taken for granted. You can't make a lot of fuss about it."
