Guidelines updated for treatment of abscesses caused by MRSA

The New England Journal of Medicine has published updated guidelines for the treatment of abscesses caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Experts from the University of California, Los Angeles, offer information on treating abscesses on the trunk and the body and recommend the use of ultrasound diagnostic tools, antibiotic combinations and less invasive draining methods.
