Index shows decline in small-business confidence

The small-business optimism index maintained by the National Federation of Independent Business dipped last month, falling to its lowest level in nearly a year. Cold weather may have been partly to blame, but it is likely not the only cause. "Parts of the country that were not seriously impacted by weather exhibited less than inspiring growth as well," according to the NFIB.
