Mass. VC firms reduce out-of-state investing

Venture capital firms in Massachusetts have scaled back investments in other states, preferring instead to concentrate on Boston-area investments. Massachusetts boasted the largest number of life sciences initial public offerings last year and has an active community of investors in early-stage life science firms, says Stephen Kraus, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and president of the New England Venture Capital Association.
