Research: More boomers embrace online financial services

The popularity of online financial advisors and do-it-yourself Web trading and advisory services has spread to baby boomers, according to research from Cerulli Associates. Nearly 50% of investors ages 50 to 59 say they are self-directed investors, compared with 42% of those ages 40 to 49. More advisory firms are adapting by embracing online services.
