Some of history's most famous leaders, including Mongol warlord Genghis Khan and Viking king Leif Erikson, saw their epic struggles succeed or fail in part because of shifts in the planet's climate, researchers believe. That shows the climate's ability to shape geopolitical trends and should serve as a warning to current global leaders, researchers say.
