Facing budget cuts, government scales back ballistic missile system

The U.S. is slowing down work on a ballistic missile defense system because of budget cuts, Jane's Defence Weekly reports. The government also ended plans to work with international partners on the Kinetic Energy Interceptor. A team led by Northrop Grumman and Raytheon won the KEI contract.
