Wednesday morning, the founders of The Carlyle Group thought they'd won a reprieve for their troubled affiliate, Carlyle Capital Corp. But a few hours later, it was apparent that the fund would collapse, losing $900 million for its investors. Now, the private-equity giant says it is looking to the future and working on restoring trust in the firm.
