Principal: In-class breakfasts help boost test scores

Providing free in-classroom breakfasts has played a part in helping a low-income Washington, D.C., elementary school improve students' standardized test scores enough to remove it from the list of schools failing to make adequate yearly progress, according to principal Connie Jones. Jones says attendance rates also have risen since the breakfast program was initiated.
