Transplant program in Texas widens access to possible marrow donors

The Amarillo Blood and Marrow Transplant Program in Texas, a collaboration between the Texas Oncology-Amarillo Cancer Center, Northwest Texas Hospital and Coffee Memorial Blood Center, has been assigned as one of the 132 National Marrow Donor Program's Be The Match Registry programs in the U.S. and one of 218 globally. The move allows the program to have access to 9 million potential donor matches for patients, according to Dr. Seah Lim, Texas Oncology hematologist and director of the program.
