BLM chief: Industry to blame for oil-production drop on public lands

Industry decisions, and not a lack of leases or permits, led to the recent decline in oil production from federal lands, Bureau of Land Management Director Robert Abbey said. His remarks came in response to claims from Republicans that the agency is stifling domestic energy development. "Where the industry decides to produce or where they decide to develop is up to them," Abbey said.
