CFTC accuses MBF Clearing of failing to segregate funds

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is suing MBF Clearing over accusations the company did not properly segregate customer funds and that it violated the Commodity Exchange Act. MBF said it placed customer funds into a government money-market account at JPMorgan Chase following the collapse of Lehman Bros. The firm said it was acting in the best interests of its clients.
