Daily deals for dental care pose legal issues

Daily-deal websites such as Groupon and Living Social have begun offering dental care bargains, but the offers might run afoul of state laws. Some states prohibit health care providers, including dentists, splitting fees with third parties. "To give any third party a financial stake in a doctor patient relationship or in other professional relationship compromises the duty to the patient," said Lance Plunkett, an attorney for the N.Y. State Dental Association.
