Minimum-wage bills advance in N.J. Legislature

The New Jersey Senate's Labor Committee last week approved a bill that would increase the minimum wage by $1.25 to $8.50. On Monday, the Assembly's Labor Committee passed a bill that would require employers to pay tipped workers at least 69% of the state's minimum wage by June 2013.
