Manager will come into Fla. city at "difficult time"

The Miami Beach, Fla., City Commission has approved hiring Jimmy Morales as city manager, after an eight-month search that included 60 candidates. Morales, Doral's city attorney, will start April 1. Miami Beach is dealing with a $1 billion overhaul of the convention center and a reputation among residents of being corrupt. "You are going to be rebuilding the city of Miami Beach during a very difficult time," Vice Mayor Michael Góngora told Morales.
