Senator proposes amendments to cut military biofuels

Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., introduced amendments to a government funding bill that would reduce funding for military biofuels. The two amendments would take away a total of $174 million from alternative-fuel programs. "I am confident that we can make more sensible cuts in spending than severely reducing the Army's operations and maintenance work," Toomey said in a statement.
