The University of Miami Tissue Bank has issued a voluntary tissue recall. The move is linked to problems with the bank's hepatitis testing procedures. "It's a compliance issue, it's not a safety issue," said Dr. Thomas Temple, CEO and medical director for the tissue bank. The recall involves 210 tissue donors and is expected to affect around 36,000 patients. Temple said that despite the recall, patients who received the affected tissue should not be at risk for hepatitis.
