DMARC protocol diminishes the number of attack e-mails, Twitter says

The Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance protocol has helped reduce the attack e-mails sent out under Twitter's name from 110 million a day to a few thousand, the company said. The DMARC protocol, which authenticates an e-mail's source, was cooperatively developed by companies including Facebook, Google, Microsoft and PayPal.
