Marketing is the biggest barrier for new liquor entrants

Most major liquor brands grab market share because they're good products and keep it within a marketing budget that's almost too big to spend, say wine experts. Small brands are typically focused on making a product and not advertising but the world is not ideal -- and sometimes marketing is more important than taste, said 86 Spirits Owner Simon Ford.
