Minn. to get nation's first value-of-solar ruling

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission has voted to establish a statewide formula for calculating how much customer-generated solar energy is worth. That standard, the first in the nation, drew applause from solar-industry advocates. "There's no doubt what happened today was a step forward," says Lynn Hinkle, policy director for the Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association.
