Queen Elizabeth II approves Scottish marriage equality, backs LGBT charity

Queen Elizabeth II officially approved Scotland’s marriage equality law on Thursday, a move which will allow same-sex couples there to marry by the end of the year. Earlier in the month, the British monarch for the first time publicly acknowledged the LGBT community, issuing a congratulatory statement to the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard on its 40th anniversary.
